Obadiah   900-880 B.C.   We should take solemn warning against the perils of pride and anti-Semetism.

CHAPTER ONE

Contents: Edom's humiliation because of sin against God's people.

Characters: God, Obadiah.

Conclusion: If men in their pride and carnal security dare to challenge omnipotence, their challenge will be taken up, and God will promptly lay them low. God will not suffer men to be puffed up by the humiliation of His people, nor to gloat over them in their afflictions.

Strong Verses:   4, 15.

Striking Facts: v. 17. Following the day of recompense, for which Christ is coming to the earth, the promise of deliverance and holiness for the people shall be fulfilled. The kingdoms of the world shall then become the kingdoms of the Lord and His Christ, who will take to Himself great power, and reign.
