She's found in the 1850 census in White Township, Cambria County, PA: MILL ER, Joseph (39); Mary (13); Margaret (11); Peter (9); George (8); Sarah (4 ); RICHARDS, Charolette (36); Sarah J. (8); Malinda (6); David (9/12). Jos eph was a farmer. Everyone in the household was born in PA.
In 1860, Charlotta was living with her daughter Sarah Jane, who at that ti me was married to Daniel Spangler: Daniel Spangler (25); Sarah Spangler (2 0); Charlotte Richards (50); Elizabeth C. Lenam (? -- thought to be Charlo tta's daughter). This was from the 1860 Gulich Township, Clearfield Count y, PA census.
In 1880, she was living with a daughter, Mary E. (Elizabeth?): STINE, Hen ry (age 31); Mary E. (age 28); Mary C. (age 1); and Charlotte Richards (a ge 67). This is from the 1880 Logan Township, Blair County, PA census.
She's found in the 1900 census for Reade Township, Cambria County, PA, s he is found with daughter Elizabeth: DIXON, Josiah (age 50?); Elizabeth (a ge 48?) and one child whose name is unknown; David I. Dixon (July 1899) a nd Charlotta Richards (mother-in-law; b. Dec. 1813; age 86; 9 childre n; 5 of which were still living). Josiah and Elizabeth had been marri ed 16 years; Elizabeth was the mother of 6 children, only 3 of whom were s till living. Josiah, Elizabeth and the first child are shown on the bott om of a page, which is very difficult to read. Elizabeth's husband's na me was actually Isaiah Dixon, but spelled in this census record as Josiah.
According to Charlotta's son Emanuel's obit, he had two half-sisters survi ng him named Mrs. Daniel Hollen and Mrs. John Dixon. We now know that Mr s. Daniel Hollen was Elizabeth and suspect that Mrs. John Dixon was Sevil la Miller. They were probably daughters Charlotta had after George Richard s' death, making them half-sisters to Emanuel.
