Obituary of Perry Swartzentruver from Johnstown Tribune Newspaper
dated Wednesday, December 1, 1897
Perry Swartzentruver, a resident of South Fork, who had been a patie nt at the Memorial Hospital for the past three months, died at that instit ution at 7:30 o'clock this morning. The cause of his demise was Bright 's Disease.
Mr Swartzentruver was of German descent and was born fifty six yea rs ago in Croyle Township, this county. He was a brother of Samuel Swartz entruver and Mrs John Fye who reside near South Fork.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: William D.J ., Mrs Minnie Everhart, John W., W.E., of South Fork; Mrs Mary Walk er of Dunlo, Nora, Pearl, Effie, and Charles of South Fork.
Mr Swartzentruver was a soldier in the Civil War and had spent some t ime at the National Soldiers Home, Dayton, O.
The remains were taken to South Fork on mail express this afternoon f or burial which will take place on Friday, interment to be made in the cem etery at that place.
Perry married Harriet Weigle, daughter of Daniel Weigle and Mary Long, on 27 Jan 1864 in Shanksville, Somerset Co, PA.38 (Harriet Weigle was born on 8 Jul 1844 in Somerset, PA (Not Apr 8, J.Webb) 41 and died on 1 May 1928 in South Fork, Somerset Co, PA. 41.)
