Mrs Shaffer, 59 of Dale Succumbs
Mrs. Effie (Swartzentruver) Shaffer, 59, wife of William I. Shaffe r, 715 Messenger Street, Dale borough, died at Memorial Hospital at 12: 30 o'clock this afternoon. She had been a medical patient at the hospit al since June 16.
Born in South Fork, Mrs. Shaffer had resided in Johnstown since h er marriage about 39 years ago. She was a member of the Bedford Street Ev angelical Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are nine children-- Norma, wi fe of John Small, Fronheiser Street; Miss Clara, at home; Howard, interma rried with Elmira Sheriff, rear Bedford Street; Ruth, wife of Howard Tyso n, Cleveland, O.; Martha, wife of Ray Gordon, at home; Esther, wife of Pa ul Betts, Johnstown; and Grace, Lois and Paul Shaffer, at home.
Funeral arrangements in charge of Barefoot * Mickle, are incomplete.
