Mrs. Marie Boeschen, nee Junge, was born in Hanover, Germany, on Ju ne 8, 1855--a daughter of John Junge and his wife Hanna, nee Damman n. In her native country she was baptized into the Name of the Triune Go d. At the age of eight years, she emigrated with her parents, they settl ed in Benton County, near Stover. There she was confirmed in the Luther an Faith after due instruction. At the age of 16, the deceased came to Co ncordia to work here. Here she was joined in Holy Wedlock to Henry Boesch en by Pastor Biltz on March 20, 1874. This union was dissolved by God aft er 49 years by the death of the husband occurring on May 4, 1923.
Grandma Boeschen died on last Tuesday, May 11, at the age of 87-11-3. H er husband, as well as 3 daughters and 2 sons preceded her in death. Fo ur daughters and one son survive her. The daughters living are: Mrs. Cla ra Frerking of Linn, Kans.; Mrs. Elinore Pregge, Mrs. Mary Schroeder, Mr s. Flora Schnakenberg all of Concordia; her one son Ernest Boeschen. Al so one brother is surviving her, Herman Junge of Stover, Mo. and 30 grandc hildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Three grandchildren and one great-gr andchild preceded her in death. Two sons and three daughters preceded h er death. The children dying before her are: Mrs. Bertha Flandermeyer--a ge 64 years; Adolph Boeschen--age 38; Ella, Rosina and Henry died in infan cy.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the son's home, then ce to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, conducted by her pastor, the Rev O.E. He ilman. Interment was at the St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery. The pallbeare rs were her grandsons, Lawrence Boeschen, Elmer Schroeder, Melvin Schnaken berg, Melvin Pregge, and Emil and Alvin Flandermeyer. The flower girls we re her grandaughters Alverna Pregge, Lorna Schnakenberg, and Edna and Esth er Schroeder.
