The Ransom
By Rick Swartzentrover - 1979

I was originally created to be
innocent and free,
until a imp named Satan
came and kidnapped me.

This imp's name was Satan
he had an eerie grin,
he held a gun upon me
the gun's name was Sin.

My brother paid the ransom
that finally set me free
the price was his own life
yes, Jesus died for me.

I'm on my way to Heaven
Where love and joy are found
I'm going to my Father
I'm finally homeward bound.

Imagine if you can
that God lives in me.
The Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
the blessed Trinity.

The Ghost is a loving guy
of whom all Christians sing.
The Son is a lamb,
who also is my King.

You've also been kidnapped.
And Jesus died for you!
Ask him to pay your ransom,
and he'll be your brother too.
