ΑΠΟΚΑΛΥΨΙΣ ΙΩΑΝΝΟΥ ΤΟΥ ΘΕΟΛΟΓΟΥ

Revelation of John the Theologian

 

CHAPTER 6
  1  και   ειδον   οτε   ηνοιξεν   το   αρνιον   μιαν   εκ   των   σφραγιδων   και   ηκουσα  
    And   I saw   when   opened 3   the 1   Lamb 2   one   of   of the   seals,   and   I heard  
ενος   εκ   των   τεσσαρων   ζωων   λεγοντος   ως   φωνης   βροντης  
one 6   of 7   the 8   four 9   living 10 creatures 11   saying, 12   as 1   a 2 voice 3   of 4 thunder, 5  
ερχου   και   βλεπε    
Come   and   see.    
  2  και   ειδον   και   ιδου   ιππος   λευκος   και   ο   καθημενος   επ   αυτω   εχων  
    And   I saw,   and   behold,   a horse 2   white, 1   and   he   sitting   on   it   having  
τοξον   και   εδοθη   αυτω   στεφανος   και   εξηλθεν   νικων   και   ινα  
a bow;   and   was given   to him   a crown,   and   he went forth   overcoming   and   that  
νικηση    
he might overcome.    
  3  και   οτε   ηνοιξεν   την   δευτεραν   σφραγιδα   ηκουσα   του   δευτερου  
    And   when   he opened   the   second   seal   I heard   the   second  
ζωου   λεγοντος   ερχου   και   βλεπε    
living creature   saying,   Come   and   see.    
  4  και   εξηλθεν   αλλος   ιππος   πυρρος   και   τω   καθημενω   επ   αυτω   εδοθη  
    And   went forth   another   horse   red;   and   to him   sitting   on   it   was given  
αυτω   λαβειν   την   ειρηνην   απο   της   γης   και   ινα   αλληλους   σφαξωσιν  
to him   to take   ♦   peace   from   the   earth,   and   that   one another   they should slay;  
και   εδοθη   αυτω   μαχαιρα   μεγαλη    
and   was given   to him   a sword 2   great. 1    
  5  και   οτε   ηνοιξεν   την   τριτην   σφραγιδα   ηκουσα   του   τριτου   ζωου  
    And   when   he opened   the   third   seal   I heard   the   third   living creature  
λεγοντος   ερχου   και   βλεπε   και   ειδον   και   ιδου   ιππος   μελας   και   ο  
saying,   Come   and   see.   And   I saw,   and   behold,   a horse 2   black, 1   and   he  
καθημενος   επ   αυτω   εχων   ζυγον   εν   τη   χειρι   αυτου    
sitting   on   it   having   a balance   in   his hand.   ♦   ♦    
  6  και   ηκουσα   φωνην   εν   μεσω   των   τεσσαρων   ζωων   λεγουσαν  
    And   I heard   a voice   in   [the] midst   of the   four   living creatures,   saying,  
χοινιξ   σιτου   δηναριου   και   τρεις   χοινικες   κριθης   δηναριου   και   το  
A choenix   of wheat   for a denarius,   and   three   choenixes   of barley   for a denarius:   and   the  
ελαιον   και   τον   οινον   μη   αδικησης    
oil   and   the   wine   thou mayest not injure.   ♦    
  7  και   οτε   ηνοιξεν   την   σφραγιδα   την   τεταρτην   ηκουσα   φωνην   του  
    And   when   he opened   the   seal 2   ♦   fourth, 1   I heard   [the] voice   of the  
τεταρτου   ζωου   λεγουσαν   ερχου   και   βλεπε    
fourth   living creature   saying,   Come   and   see.    
  8  και   ειδον   και   ιδου   ιππος   χλωρος   και   ο   καθημενος   επανω   αυτου  
    And   I saw,   and   behold,   a horse 2   pale 1   and   he   sitting   on   it,  
ονομα   αυτω   ο   θανατος   και   ο   αδης   ακολουθει   μετ   αυτου   και   εδοθη  
name 2   his [was] 1   ♦   Death,   and   ♦   hades   follows   with   him;   and   was given  
αυτοις   εξουσια   αποκτειναι   επι   το   τεταρτον   της   γης   εν   ρομφαια   και   εν
to them   authority   to kill   over   the   fourth   of the   earth   with   sword   and   with
  λιμω   και   εν   θανατω   και   υπο   των   θηριων   της   γης    
  famine   and   with   death,   and   by   the   beasts   of the   earth.    
  9  και   οτε   ηνοιξεν   την   πεμπτην   σφραγιδα   ειδον   υποκατω   του  
    And   when   he opened   the   fifth   seal   I saw   under   the  
θυσιαστηριου   τας   ψυχας   των   εσφαγμενων   δια   τον   λογον   του  
altar   the   souls   of those   having been slain   because of   the   word   ♦  
θεου   και   δια   την   μαρτυριαν   ην   ειχον    
of God,   and   because of   the   testimony   which   they held;    
  10  και   εκραζον   φωνη   μεγαλη   λεγοντες   εως   ποτε   ο   δεσποτης   ο  
    and   they were crying   with a voice 2   loud, 1   saying,   Until   when,   O   Master,   the  
αγιος   και   ο   αληθινος   ου   κρινεις   και   εκδικεις   το   αιμα  
holy   and   the   true,   dost thou not judge   ♦   and   avenge   our blood   ♦  
ημων   απο   των   κατοικουντων   επι   της   γης    
♦   on   those who   dwell   on   the   earth?    
  11  και   εδοθησαν   εκαστοις   στολαι   λευκαι   και   ερρεθη   αυτοις   ινα  
    And   were given   to each   robes 2   white; 1   and   it was said   to them   that  
αναπαυσωνται   ετι   χρονον   μικρον   εως   ου   πληρωσονται   και  
they should rest   yet   a time 2   little, 1   until   ♦   shall be fulfilled   both  
οι   συνδουλοι   αυτων   και   οι   αδελφοι   αυτων   οι  
their fellow-bondmen   ♦   ♦   and   their brethren,   ♦   ♦   those  
μελλοντες   αποκτεινεσθαι   ως   και   αυτοι    
being about   to be killed   as   also   they.    
  12  και   ειδον   οτε   ηνοιξεν   την   σφραγιδα   την   εκτην   και   ιδου   σεισμος  
    And   I saw   when   he opened   the   seal 2   ♦   sixth, 1   and   behold,   earthquake 5  
μεγας   εγενετο   και   ο   ηλιος   εγενετο   μελας   ως   σακκος   τριχινος   και   η  
a 3 great 4   there 1 was, 2   and   the   sun   became   black   as   sackcloth 2   hair, 1   and   the  
σεληνη   εγενετο   ως   αιμα    
moon   became   as   blood,    
  13  και   οι   αστερες   του   ουρανου   επεσαν   εις   την   γην   ως   συκη   βαλλει  
    and   the   stars   of the   heaven   fell   unto   the   earth,   as   a fig-tree   casts  
τους   ολυνθους   αυτης   υπο   μεγαλου   ανεμου   σειομενη    
its untimely figs,   ♦   ♦   by   a great   wind   being shaken.    
  14  και   ουρανος   απεχωρισθη   ως   βιβλιον   ειλισσομενον   και   παν   ορος  
    And   heaven   departed   as   a book   being rolled up,   and   every   mountain  
και   νησος   εκ   των   τοπων   αυτων   εκινηθησαν    
and   island   out of   their places   ♦   ♦   were moved.    
  15  και   οι   βασιλεις   της   γης   και   οι   μεγιστανες   και   οι   πλουσιοι   και   οι  
    And   the   kings   of the   earth,   and   the   great,   and   the   rich,   and   the  
χιλιαρχοι   και   οι   δυνατοι   και   πας   δουλος   και   πας   ελευθερος   εκρυψαν  
chief captains,   and   the   powerful,   and   every   bondman,   and   every   free [man]   hid  
εαυτους   εις   τα   σπηλαια   και   εις   τας   πετρας   των   ορεων    
themselves   in   the   caves   and   in   the   rocks   of the   mountains;    
  16  και   λεγουσιν   τοις   ορεσιν   και   ταις   πετραις   πεσετε   εφ   ημας   και  
    and   they say   to the   mountains   and   to the   rocks,   Fall   on   us,   and  
κρυψατε   ημας   απο   προσωπου   του   καθημενου   επι   του   θρονου   και  
hide   us   from   [the] face   of him who   sits   on   the   throne,   and  
απο   της   οργης   του   αρνιου    
from   the   wrath   of the   Lamb;    
  17  οτι   ηλθεν   η   ημερα   η   μεγαλη   της   οργης   αυτου   και   τις   δυναται  
    Because   is come   the   day 2   ♦   great 1   ♦   wrath 5   of 3 his, 4   and   who   is able  
σταθηναι    
to stand?
