Revelation of John the Theologian

 

CHAPTER 11
  1  και   εδοθη   μοι   καλαμος   ομοιος   ραβδω   λεγων   εγειραι   και   μετρησον  
    And   was given   to me   a reed   like   a staff,   saying,   Rise,   and   measure  
τον   ναον   του   θεου   και   το   θυσιαστηριον   και   τους   προσκυνουντας   εν  
the   temple   ♦   of God,   and   the   altar,   and   those who   worship   in  
αυτω    
it.    
  2  και   την   αυλην   την   εσωθεν   του   ναου   εκβαλε   εξω   και   μη   αυτην  
    And   the   court   which [is]   within   the   temple   cast   out,   and   not 3   it 2  
μετρησης   οτι   εδοθη   τοις   εθνεσιν   και   την   πολιν   την   αγιαν  
measure; 1   because   it was given [up]   to the   nations,   and   the   city 2   ♦   holy 1  
πατησουσιν   μηνας   τεσσαρακοντα   δυο    
shall they trample upon   months 3   forty 1   two. 2    
  3  και   δωσω   τοις   δυσιν   μαρτυσιν   μου   και  
    And   I will give [power]   to my two witnesses,   ♦   ♦   ♦   and  
προφητευσουσιν   ημερας   χιλιας   διακοσιας   εξηκοντα  
they shall prophesy   days 7   a 1 thousand 2   two 3 hundred 4   [and] 5 sixty, 6  
περιβεβλημενοι   σακκους    
clothed in   sackcloth.    
  4  ουτοι   εισιν   αι   δυο   ελαιαι   και   δυο   λυχνιαι   αι   ενωπιον   του   θεου  
    These   are   the   two   olive trees,   and   [the] two   lampstands   which   before 2   the 3   God 4  
της   γης   εστωσαι    
of 5 the 6   earth 7   stand. 1    
  5  και   ει   τις   αυτους   θελη   αδικησαι   πυρ   εκπορευεται   εκ   του  
    And   if   anyone   them 5   should 1 will 2   to 3 injure, 4   fire   goes out   of   ♦  
στοματος   αυτων   και   κατεσθιει   τους   εχθρους   αυτων   και   ει   τις  
mouth 2   their, 1   and   devours   their enemies.   ♦   ♦   And   if   anyone  
αυτους   θελη   αδικησαι   ουτως   δει   αυτον   αποκτανθηναι    
them 5   should 1 wil 2   to 3 injure, 4   thus   must he   ♦   be killed.    
  6  ουτοι   εχουσιν   εξουσιαν   κλεισαι   τον   ουρανον   ινα   μη   βρεχη   υετος   εν  
    These   have   authority   to shut   the   heaven,   that   no   may 2 fall 3   rain 1   in  
ημεραις   αυτων   της   προφητειας   και   εξουσιαν   εχουσιν   επι   των   υδατων  
[the] days   of their   ♦   prophecy;   and   authority   they have   over   the   waters,  
στρεφειν   αυτα   εις   αιμα   και   παταξαι   την   γην   παση   πληγη   οσακις   εαν  
to turn   them   into   blood,   and   to smite   the   earth   with every   plague,   as often as   ♦  
θελησωσιν    
they may will.    
  7  και   οταν   τελεσωσιν   την   μαρτυριαν   αυτων   το   θηριον  
    And   when   they shall have completed   their testimony,   ♦   ♦   the   beast  
το   αναβαινον   εκ   της   αβυσσου   ποιησει   πολεμον   μετ   αυτων   και  
who   comes up   out of   the   abyss   will make   war   with   them,   and  
νικησει   αυτους   και   αποκτενει   αυτους    
will overcome   them,   and   will kill   them:    
  8  και   τα   πτωματα   αυτων   επι   της   πλατειας   πολεως   της   μεγαλης   ητις
    and   ♦   bodies 2   their 1   [will be] on   the   street   of city 3   the 1   great, 2   which
  καλειται   πνευματικως   σοδομα   και   αιγυπτος   οπου   και   ο   κυριος   ημων  
  is called   spiritually   Sodom   and   Egypt,   where   also   ♦   Lord 2   our 1  
εσταυρωθη    
was crucified.    
  9  και   βλεψουσιν   εκ   των   λαων   και   φυλων   και   γλωσσων   και  
    And   shall 11 see 12 [some] 1   of 2   the 3   people 4   and 5   tribes 6   and 7   tongues 8   and 9  
εθνων   τα   πτωματα   αυτων   ημερας   τρεις   και   ημισυ   και   τα  
nations 10   ♦   bodies 14   their 13   days 16   three 15   and   a half,   and   their bodies  
πτωματα   αυτων   ουκ   αφησουσιν   τεθηναι   εις   μνηματα    
♦   ♦   not 3   they 1 will 2 suffer   to be put   into   tombs.    
  10  και   οι   κατοικουντες   επι   της   γης   χαρουσιν   επ   αυτοις   και  
    And   they that   dwell   on   the   earth   will rejoice   over   them,   and  
ευφρανθησονται   και   δωρα   πεμψουσιν   αλληλοις   οτι   ουτοι   οι   δυο  
will make merry,   and   gifts   will send   to one another,   because   these,   the   two  
προφηται   εβασανισαν   τους   κατοικουντας   επι   της   γης    
prophets,   tormented   them that   dwell   upon   the   earth.    
  11  και   μετα   τας   τρεις   ημερας   και   ημισυ   πνευμα   ζωης   εκ   του   θεου  
    And   after   the   three   days   and   a half,   [the] spirit   of life   from   ♦   God  
εισηλθεν   επ   αυτους   και   εστησαν   επι   τους   ποδας   αυτων   και   φοβος  
did enter   into   them,   and   they stood   upon   ♦   feet 2   their; 1   and   fear 2  
μεγας   επεσεν   επι   τους   θεωρουντας   αυτους    
great 1   fell   upon   those   beholding   them:    
  12  και   ηκουσαν   φωνην   μεγαλην   εκ   του   ουρανου   λεγουσαν   αυτοις  
    and   they heard   a voice 2   great 1   out of   the   heaven,   saying   to them,  
αναβητε   ωδε   και   ανεβησαν   εις   τον   ουρανον   εν   τη   νεφελη   και  
Come up   hither.   And   they went up   to   the   heaven   in   the   cloud;   and  
εθεωρησαν   αυτους   οι   εχθροι   αυτων    
beheld 3   them 4   their 1 enemies. 2   ♦   ♦    
  13  και   εν   εκεινη   τη   ωρα   εγενετο   σεισμος   μεγας   και   το   δεκατον   της  
    And   in   that   ♦   hour   there was   earthquake 3   a 1 great, 2   and   the   tenth   of the  
πολεως   επεσεν   και   απεκτανθησαν   εν   τω   σεισμω   ονοματα   ανθρωπων  
city   fell,   and   there were killed   in   the   earthquake   names 3   of 4 men 5  
χιλιαδες   επτα   και   οι   λοιποι   εμφοβοι   εγενοντο   και   εδωκαν   δοξαν   τω  
thousand 2   seven. 1   And   the   rest   afraid 2   became, 1   and   gave   glory   to the  
θεω   του   ουρανου    
God   of the   heaven.    
  14  η   ουαι   η   δευτερα   απηλθεν   ιδου   η   ουαι   η   τριτη   ερχεται   ταχυ    
    ♦   Woe 3   the 1   second 2   is past:   lo,   the   woe 2   ♦   third 1   comes   quickly.    
  15  και   ο   εβδομος   αγγελος   εσαλπισεν   και   εγενοντο   φωναι  
    And   the   seventh   angel   sounded [his] trumpet;   and   were 3   voices 2  
μεγαλαι   εν   τω   ουρανω   λεγουσαι   εγενοντο   αι   βασιλειαι   του   κοσμου
great 1   in   the   heaven,   saying,   Are 6 became 7   the 1   kingdoms 2   of 3 the 4   world 5
  του   κυριου   ημων   και   του   χριστου   αυτου   και   βασιλευσει   εις  
  our Lord’s   ♦   ♦   and   his Christ’s,   ♦   ♦   and   he shall reign   to  
τους   αιωνας   των   αιωνων    
the   ages   of the   ages.    
  16  και   οι   εικοσι   και   τεσσαρες   πρεσβυτεροι   οι   ενωπιον   του   θεου  
    And   the   twenty   and   four   elders,   who   before   ♦   God  
καθημενοι   επι   τους   θρονους   αυτων   επεσαν   επι   τα   προσωπα  
sit   on   their thrones,   ♦   ♦   fell   upon   their faces,   ♦  
αυτων   και   προσεκυνησαν   τω   θεω    
♦   and   worshipped   ♦   God,    
  17  λεγοντες   ευχαριστουμεν   σοι   κυριε   ο   θεος   ο   παντοκρατωρ   ο  
    saying,   We give thanks   to thee,   Lord   ♦   God   ♦   Almighty,   [He] who  
ων   και   ο   ην   και   ο   ερχομενος   οτι   ειληφας   την   δυναμιν   σου   την  
is,   and   who   was,   and   who   [is] coming,   that   thou hast taken   ♦   power 3   your 1   ♦  
μεγαλην   και   εβασιλευσας    
great, 2   and   reigned.    
  18  και   τα   εθνη   ωργισθησαν   και   ηλθεν   η   οργη   σου   και   ο   καιρος   των  
    And   the   nations   were angry,   and   is come   ♦   wrath 2   thy, 1   and   the   time   of the  
νεκρων   κριθηναι   και   δουναι   τον   μισθον   τοις   δουλοις   σου   τοις  
dead   to be judged,   and   to give   the   reward   to thy bondmen   ♦   ♦   the  
προφηταις   και   τοις   αγιοις   και   τοις   φοβουμενοις   το   ονομα   σου
prophets,   and   to the   saints,   and   to those who   fear   thy name,   ♦   ♦
  τοις   μικροις   και   τοις   μεγαλοις   και   διαφθειραι   τους  
  the   small   and   the   great;   and   to bring to corruption   those who  
διαφθειροντας   την   γην    
corrupt   the   earth.    
  19  και   ηνοιγη   ο   ναος   του   θεου   εν   τω   ουρανω   και   ωφθη   η   κιβωτος  
    And   was opened   the   temple   ♦   of God   in   the   heaven,   and   was seen   the   ark  
της   διαθηκης   αυτου   εν   τω   ναω   αυτου   και   εγενοντο  
of his covenant   ♦   ♦   in   his temple:   ♦   ♦   and   they were  
αστραπαι   και   φωναι   και   βρονται   και   σεισμος   και   χαλαζα   μεγαλη    
lightnings   and   voices   and   thunders   and   an earthquake   and   hail 2   great. 1
