CHAPTER 11
Now is 2     faith 1   of [things] hoped for   [the] assurance,   of things   [the] 3 conviction 4
not 1   seen. 2
For by this       were 3 borne 4 witness 5 to 6   the 1   elders. 2
By faith   we apprehend   to have been framed   the   worlds   by [the] word   of God,   so that
not 5   from 7 [things] 8   appearing 9   the 1 things 2   seen 3   have 4 being. 6
By faith   a 2 more 3 excellent 4   sacrifice 5   Abel 1   than   Cain   offered     to God,   by
which   he was borne witness to   as being   righteous,   bearing 2 witness 3   to 4   his 5 gifts 6
God, 1   and   through   it,   having died,   yet   speaks.
By faith   Enoch   was translated     not   to see   death,   and   was not found,
because   translated 2   him 3     God; 1   for before     his translation
he has borne witness to   to have well pleased     God.
But apart from     faith   [it is] impossible   to well please [him].   For to 8 believe 9
it 1 behoves 2   him 3 who 4   approaches 5     to 6 God, 7   that   he is,   and [that]
for those who   seek out 2   him 1   a rewarder   he becomes.

[the] salvation     of house 2   his; 1   by   which   he condemned   the   world,   and   of the
according 2 to 3   faith 4   righteousness 1   became   heir.
By faith   being called   Abraham   obeyed   to go out   into   the   place   which
he was about   to receive   for   an inheritance,   and   went out,   not   knowing   where
he is going.
By faith   he sojourned   in   the   land   of the   promise,   as [in]   a strange [country],   in
tents   having dwelt   with   Isaac   and   Jacob,   the   joint-heirs   of the

promise 2     same; 1
for he was waiting for     the     foundations 3   having 2   city, 1   of which
[the] artificer   and   constructor [is]     God.

In   faith   died 3   these 2   all, 1   not   having received   the   promises,
but   from afar   them   having seen,   and   having been persuaded,   and
having embraced [them],   and   having confessed   that   strangers   and   sojourners   they are
  επι   της   γης
  on   the   earth.
For they who     such things   say,   make manifest   that [their]   own country
they are seeking.
And if     indeed   that 4   they 1 were 2 remembering 3   from   whence   they came out,
