Second Epistle to Timothy
Thou | therefore, | my child, | ♦ | be strong | in | the | grace | which [is] | in | Christ |
ιησου | ||
Jesus. |
And | the things which | thou didst hear | of | me | with | many | witnesses, | these |
commit | to faithful | men, | such as | competent | shall be | also | others | to teach. |
Thou | therefore | suffer hardship | as | good 2 | a soldier 1 | of Jesus | Christ. |
No one | serving as a soldier | entangles himself | with the | ♦ | of 2 life 3 | affairs, 1 | that |
him who | enrolled him as a soldier | he may please. |
And if | ♦ | also | content 2 [in 3 the 4 games] 5 | anyone, 1 | he is not crowned | ♦ |
εαν | μη | νομιμως | αθληση | |||||
unless | ♦ | lawfully | he shall have contended. |
The | labour 3 | husbandman 1 | must 2 | before | of the | fruits | partaking. |
Consider | the things | I say, | may 2 give 5 | for 1 | thee 6 | the 3 | Lord 4 | understanding | in | all things. |
Remember | Jesus | Christ | raised | from among | [the] dead, | of [the] |
seed | of David, | according to | ♦ | glad 2 tidings 3 | my, 1 |
in | which | I suffer hardship | unto | bonds | as | an evil doer: | but | the | word | ♦ |
θεου | ου | δεδεται | ||||
of God | is not bound. | ♦ |
Because of | this | all things | I endure | for sake of | the | elect, | that | also | they |
[the] salvation | may obtain | which [is] | in | Christ | Jesus | with | glory 2 | eternal. 1 |
Faithful [is] | the | word; | for if | ♦ | we died together with [him], | also | we shall live together; |
if | we endure, | also | we shall reign together; | if | we deny [him], | he also |
αρνησεται | ημας | |||
will deny | us; |
if | we are unfaithful, | he | faithful | abides; | to deny | himself | he is not able. |
δυναται | ||
♦ |
These 2 things 3 | put 4 in 5 remembrance 6 of, 1 | testifying earnestly | before | the |
Lord | not | to dispute about words | for 2 | nothing 3 | profitable, 1 | to | subversion |
των | ακουοντων | |||
of those who | hear. |
Be diligent | thyself 3 | approved 4 | to 1 present 2 | ♦ | to God, | a workman |
not ashamed, | straightly cutting | the | word | ♦ | of truthl |
but profane | ♦ | ♦ | empty babblings | stand aloof from, | to 2 | more 3 | for 1 |
προκοψουσιν | ασεβειας | |||
they will advance | of ungodliness, |
and | their word | ♦ | ♦ | as | a gangrene | pasture | will have; | of whom | is |
υμεναιος | και | φιλητος | ||||
Hymenaeus | and | Philetus; |
who | concerning | the | truth | missed the mark, | asserting | the | resurrection |
already | to have taken place; | and | are overthrowing | the | of 2 some 3 | faith. 1 |
♦ | Nevertheless | firm 2 | foundation 3 | ♦ | God’s 1 | stands, | having | this seal, |
♦ | ♦ | Knows 3 | [the] 1 Lord 2 | those that | are | his, | and | Let depart |
from | unrighteousness | everyone | who | names | the | name | of Christ. |
In 2 | great 4 | and 1 | a house 3 | there are not | ♦ | only | vessels | golden | and | silver, |
but | also | wooden | and | earthen, | and | some | ♦ | to | honour, | others | ♦ | to |
ατιμιαν | ||
dishonour. |
If | therefore | one | shall have purged | himself | from | these, | he shall be | a vessel | to |
honour, | having been sanctified, | and | servicable | to the | master, | for | every | work 2 |
αγαθον | ητοιμασμενον | |||
good 1 | having been prepared. |
But youthful | ♦ | ♦ | lusts | flee, | and pursue | ♦ | righteousness, |
faith, | love, | peace | with | those that | call on | the | Lord | out of |
καθαρας | καρδιας | |||
pure 2 | a heart. 1 |
But foolish | ♦ | ♦ | and | undisciplined | questionings | refuse, | knowing | that |
γεννωσιν | μαχας | |||
they beget | contentions. |
And a 3 bondman 4 | ♦ | of 5 [the] 6 Lord 7 | it 1 behoves 2 not | ♦ | to contend, | but | gentle |
to be | towards | all; | apt to teach; | forbearing; |
in | meekness | disciplining | those that | oppose, | if perhaps | may 2 give 3 |
them 4 | ♦ | God 1 | repentance | to | acknowledgment | of [the] truth, |
and | they may awake up | out of | the | of 2 the 3 | devil 4 | snare, 1 | having been taken | by |
him | for | ♦ | his | will. |
