Epistle to the Colossians

 

CHAPTER 4
  οι   κυριοι   το   δικαιον   και   την   ισοτητα   τοις   δουλοις   παρεχεσθε
      Masters,   that which   [is] just   and   that which   [is] equal     to bondmen   give,
  ειδοτες   οτι   και   υμεις   εχετε   κυριον   εν   ουρανοις    
  knowing   that   also   ye   have   a Master   in   [the] heavens.    
  τη   προσευχη   προσκαρτερειτε   γρηγορουντες   εν   αυτη   εν   ευχαριστια    
      In prayer   stedfastly continue,   watching   in   it   with   thanksgiving;    
  προσευχομενοι   αμα   και   περι   ημων   ινα   ο   θεος   ανοιξη   ημιν   θυραν   του  
    praying   withal   also   for   us,   that     God   may open   to us   a door   of the  
λογου   λαλησαι   το   μυστηριον   του   χριστου   δι   ο   και  
word   to speak   the   mystery   of the   Christ,   on account of   which   also  
δεδεμαι    
I have been bound,    
  ινα   φανερωσω   αυτο   ως   δει   με   λαλησαι    
    that   manifest   it   as   it behoves   me   to speak.    
  εν   σοφια   περιπατειτε   προς   τους   εξω   τον   καιρον   εξαγοραζομενοι    
    In   wisdom   walk   towards   those   without,   the 2   time 3   ransoming. 1    
  ο   λογος   υμων   παντοτε   εν   χαριτι   αλατι   ηρτυμενος   ειδεναι   πως  
      [Let] word 2   your 1   [be] always   with   grace,   with 2 salt 3   seasoned, 1   to know   how  
δει   υμας   ενι   εκαστω   αποκρινεσθαι    
it behoves   you   each 3 one 4     to 1 answer. 2    
  τα   κατ   εμε   παντα   γνωρισει   υμιν   τυχικος   ο  
    The 2 things 3   concerning 4   me 5   all 1   will 7 make 8 known 9   to 10 you 11   Tychicus 6   the  
αγαπητος   αδελφος   και   πιστος   διακονος   και   συνδουλος   εν   κυριω    
beloved   brother   and   faithful   servant   and   fellow-bondman   in   [the] Lord;    
  ον   επεμψα   προς   υμας   εις   αυτο   τουτο   ινα   γνω   τα  
    whom   I sent   to   you   for   this very thing,     that   he might know   the things  
περι   υμων   και   παρακαλεση   τας   καρδιας   υμων    
concerning   you,   and   might encourage     your hearts;      
  συν   ονησιμω   τω   πιστω   και   αγαπητω   αδελφω   ος   εστιν   εξ   υμων  
    with   Onesimus,   the   faithful   and   beloved   brother,   who   is   of   you.  
παντα   υμιν   γνωριουσιν   τα   ωδε    
All things   to 2 you 3   they 4 will 5 make 6 known 7     here. 1    
  10  ασπαζεται   υμας   αρισταρχος   ο   συναιχμαλωτος   μου   και  
    Salutes 4   you 5   Aristarchus 1   my fellow-prisoner,       and  
μαρκος   ο   ανεψιος   βαρναβα   περι   ου   ελαβετε   εντολας   εαν   ελθη  
Mark,   the   cousin   of Barnabas,   concerning   whom   ye received   orders,   (if   he come  
προς   υμας   δεξασθε   αυτον    
to   you,   receive   him,)    
  11  και   ιησους   ο   λεγομενος   ιουστος   οι   οντες   εκ   περιτομης  
    and   Jesus     called   Justus,   who   are   of   [the] circumcision.  
ουτοι   μονοι   συνεργοι   εις   την   βασιλειαν   του   θεου   οιτινες  
These [are the]   only   fellow-workers   for   the   kingdom     of God,   who  
εγενηθησαν   μοι   παρηγορια    
were   to me   a consolation.    
  12  ασπαζεται   υμας   επαφρας   ο   εξ   υμων   δουλος   χριστου   παντοτε  
    Salutes 2   you 3   Epaphras 1   who [is]   of   you,   a bondman   of Christ,   always  
αγωνιζομενος   υπερ   υμων   εν   ταις   προσευχαις   ινα   στητε   τελειοι   και  
striving   for   you   in     prayers,   that   ye may stand   perfect   and  
πεπληρωμενοι   εν   παντι   θεληματι   του   θεου    
complete   in   every   will     of God.    
  13  μαρτυρω   γαρ   αυτω   οτι   εχει   ζηλον   πολυν   υπερ   υμων   και   των   εν  
    For I bear witness     to him   that   he has   zeal 2   much 1   for   you   and   them   in  
λαοδικεια   και   των   εν   ιεραπολει    
Laodicea   and   them   in   Hierapolis.    
  14  ασπαζεται   υμας   λουκας   ο   ιατρος   ο   αγαπητος   και   δημας    
    Salutes 5   you 6   Luke 1   the 2   physician 4     beloved, 3   and   Demas.    
  15  ασπασασθε   τους   εν   λαοδικεια   αδελφους   και   νυμφαν   και   την  
    Salute   the   in 2   Laodicea 3   brethren, 1   and   Nymphas,   and   the  
κατ   οικον   αυτου   εκκλησιαν    
in 2 his 3 house 4       assembly. 1    
  16  και   οταν   αναγνωσθη   παρ   υμιν   η   επιστολη   ποιησατε   ινα   και   εν   τη  
    And   when   may be read   among   you   the   epistle,   cause   that   also   in   the  
λαοδικεων   εκκλησια   αναγνωσθη   και   την   εκ   λαοδικειας   ινα   και  
of 2 [the] 3 Laodiceans 4   assembly 1   it may be read,   and   that   from   Laodicea   that   also  
υμεις   αναγνωτε    
ye   may read.    
  17  και   ειπατε   αρχιππω   βλεπε   την   διακονιαν   ην   παρελαβες   εν  
    And   say   to Archippus,   Take heed to   the   service   which   thou didst receive   in  
κυριω   ινα   αυτην   πληροις    
[the] Lord,   that   it   thou fulfil.    
  18  ο   ασπασμος   τη   εμη   χειρι   παυλου   μνημονευετε   μου  
    The   salutation   by 3 my 4 [own] 5 hand 6       of 1 Paul. 2   Remember   my  
των   δεσμων   η   χαρις   μεθ   υμων   αμην   [προς   κολασσαεις   εγραφη   απο  
  bonds.     Grace [be]   with   you.   Amen.   To   [the] Colossians   written   from  
ρωμης   δια   τυχικου   και   ονησιμου]
