Epistle to the Ephesians

CHAPTER 2
and   you   being   dead     in offences   and     sins,
in   which   once   ye walked   according to   the   age     of this world,
according to   the   ruler   of the   authority   of the   air,   the   spirit
that   now   works   in   the   sons     of disobedience:
among   whom   also   we   all   had our conduct   once   in   the   desires

thoughts,   and   were   children,   by nature,   of wrath,   as   even   the   rest:
but   God,   rich 2   being 1   in   mercy,   because of     great 2   love 3
his 1   wherewith   he loved   us,
also 2   being 3   we 1   dead     in offences,   quickened [us] with   the

Jesus,

riches     of his grace     in   kindness   toward   us   in   Christ   Jesus.
For   by grace   ye are   saved   through     faith;   and   this   not   of
yourselves;   [it is] God’s     gift:
not   of   works,   that   not   anyone   might boast.
For his     we 2 are 3   workmanship, 1   created   in   Christ   Jesus   for   works 2

Wherefore   remember   that   ye   once   the   nations   in   [the] flesh,   who

are called   uncircumcision   by   that   called   circumcision   in   [the] flesh
made by hand--
that   ye were   at     that time     apart from   Christ,   alienated from
the   commonwealth     of Israel,   and   strangers   from the   covenants     of promise,
hope   not   having,   and   without God   in   the   world:
but now     in   Christ   Jesus,   ye   who   once   were   afar off   near
are become   by   the   blood   of the   Christ.
For he     is     our peace,     who   made     both   one,   and
the   middle wall   of the   fence   broke down,

and   having come   he announced the glad tidings--   peace   to you   who [were]   afar off   and
to those   near.
For through     him   we have     access     both   by   one

So   then   no longer   are ye   strangers   and   sojourners,   but   fellow-citizens   of the   saints
and   of the household     of God,
