Epistle to the Galatians

CHAPTER 5
In the   freedom   therefore   wherewith   Christ   us   made free,   stand fast,   and
not   again   in a yoke   of bondage   be held.
Lo,   I   Paul   say   to you,   that   if   ye be circumcised,   Christ   you 3   nothing 4
shall 1 profit. 2
And I testify     again   to every   man   being circumcised,   that   a debtor
he is   whole 2   the 1   law   to do.
    Ye are deprived of all effect   from   the   Christ,   whosoever   in   law   are being justified;
  grace   ye fell from.
For we,     by [the] Spirit   by   faith   [the] hope   of righteousness   await.
    For in     Christ   Jesus   neither   circumcision   any 3   is 1 of 2 force,   nor   uncircumcision;
but   faith   by 2   love 3   working. 1
Ye were running   well:   who   you 2   hindered 1   the 6   truth 7   not 3   to 4 obey? 5
The   persuasion [is]   not   of   him who   calls   you.
    A little   leaven   whole 3   the 2   lump 4   leavens. 1
I   am persuaded   as to   you   in   [the] Lord,   that   ye will have not other mind,
and he     troubling   you   shall bear   the   judgment,   whosoever
η
he may be.
But I,     brethren,   if   circumcision   yet   I proclaim,   why   yet   am I persecuted?   Then
has been done away   the   offence   of the   cross.
I would   even 3   they 1 would 2 cut themselves off   who   throw into 2 confusion 3   you. 1
For ye     for   freedom   were called,   brethren;   only   [use] not   the
freedom   for   an occasion   to the   flesh,   but   by     love   serve ye
one another.
For the whole       law   in   one   word   is fulfilled,   in     Thou shalt love
thy neighbour       as   thyself;
but if     one another   ye bite   and   devour,   take heed   not 3   by 5   one 6 another 7
ye 1 be 2 consumed. 4
But I say,     By [the] Spirit   walk ye,   and   desire 2   flesh’s 1   in no wise
should ye fulfil.
For the     flesh   desires   against   the   Spirit,   and the     Spirit   against
the   flesh;   these 2 things 3   and 1   are opposed   to one another,   that   not   whatsoever
ye may wish   those things   ye should do;
but if     but [the] Spirit   ye are led,   ye are no 2     under 1   law.
Manifest 2   now 1   are   the   works   of the   flesh,   which   are   adultery,   fornication,
uncleanness,   licentiousness,
idolatry,   sorcery,   enmities,   strifes,   jealousies,   indignations,   contentions,
divisions,   sects,
envyings,   murders,   drunkennesses,   revels,   and   things   like   these;   as to which
I tell beforehand 2   you, 1   even as   also   I said before,   that   they who   such things
do   kingdom 2   God’s 1   shall not inherit.
But the     fruit   of the   Spirit   is   love,   joy,   peace,   long-suffering,
  kindness,   goodness,   faith,
meekness,   self-control:   against   such things     there is no     law.
But they that [are]     of the   Christ   the 2   flesh 3   crucified 1   with   the
passions   and   the   desires.
If   we live   by [the] Spirit,   by [the] Spirit   also   we should walk.
We should not become     vain-glorious,   one another   provoking,
one another   envying.
