Epistle to the Galatians

CHAPTER 3
O   senseless   Galatians,   who   you   bewitched,   the 4   truth 5   not 1   to 2 obey? 3
whose 7   before 6   eyes   Jesus   Christ   was openly set forth   among   you--
crucified?
This   only   I wish   to learn   from   you,   by   works   of law   the   Spirit
receive ye,   or   by   report   of faith?
So   senseless   are ye?   Having begun   in Spirit,   now   in flesh
are ye being perfected?
So many things   did ye suffer   in vain?   if indeed   also   in vain.
He who   therefore   supplies   to you   the   Spirit,   and   works   works of power
among   you,   [is it] by   works   of law   or   by   report   of faith?
Even as   Abraham   believed     God,   and   it was reckoned   to him   for
righteousness.
    Know   then   that   they that   of   faith [are],   these   are   sons   of Abraham;
and forseeing 3     the 1   scripture 2   that   by   faith   justifies 2   the 3   nations 4     God, 1
before announced glad tidings     to Abraham:     Shall be blessed   in   thee   all
the   nations.
So that   those   of   faith   are being blessed   with   the   believing   Abraham.
For as many as     of   works   of law   are,   under   a curse   are.
For it has been written,     Cursed [is]   everyone   who   not 2   does continue 1   in   all things
which   have been written   in   the   book   of the   law     to do   them.
    But that     in virtue of   law   no one   is being justified   with     God   [is] manifest;
because   the   just   by   faith   shall live;
but the     law   is not     of   faith;   but,   the   who 2 did 3   these 4 things 5
man 1   shall live   in virtue of   them.
Christ   us   ransomed   from   the   curse   of the   law,   having become
for   us   a curse,   (for it has been written,     Cursed [is]   everyone   who
hangs   on   a tree,)
that   to   the   nations   the   blessing     of Abraham   might come   in   Christ   Jesus,   that
the   promise   of the   Spirit   we might receive   through     faith.
Brethren,   (according to   man   I am speaking,)   even   of man
a confirmed   covenant   no on   sets aside,   or   adds thereto.
But to Abraham       were spoken   the   promises,   and     to seed 2
his: 1   he does not say,     And     to seeds,   as   of   many;   but   as   of
one,   And   to thy seed;       which   is   Christ.
This 2   now 1   I say,   [the] covenant   confirmed beforehand   by     God   to
Christ,   the   after 5   years 10   four 6 hundred 7   and 8   thirty 9   which 2 took 3 place 4   law 1
does not annul     so as     to make of no effect   the   promise.
If 2   for 1   by   law [be]   the   inheritance,   [it is] no longer   by   promise;   but to Abraham
through   promise   granted 2 [it] 3     God. 1
Why   then   the   law?     transgressions 5   for 1 the 2 sake 3 of 4   it was added,   until
should have come   the   seed   to whom   promise has been made,   having been ordained   through
  angels   in   hand 3   a 1 mediator’s. 2
But the     mediator   of 3 one 4   is 1 not, 2     but God       one 2   is. 1
The law then       [it is] against   the   promises     of God?   May it not be!
For if     was given   a law   which   was able   to quicken,   indeed     by
  law   would have been     righteousness;
but   shut 3 up 4   the 1   scripture 2   all things     under   sin,   that   the
promise   by   faith   of Jesus   Christ   might be given   to those that   believe.
But before       came 2     faith, 1   under   law   we were guarded,
having been shut up   to   the   being 2 about 3   faith 1   to be revealed.
So that   the   law   tutor 2   our 1   has been [up]   to   Christ,   that   by
faith   we might be justified.
    But having 2 come 3       faith, 1   no longer   under   a tutor   we are;
for all     sons   of God   ye are   through     faith   in   Christ   Jesus.
For as many as     to   Christ   were baptized,   Christ 5   ye 1 did 2 put 3 on. 4
    There is not     Jew   nor   Greek;   thre is not     bondman   nor   free;
there is not     male   and   female;   for all     ye   one   are   in   Christ   Jesus:
but if     ye [are]   Christ’s,   then     Abraham’s   seed   ye are,   and   according to
promise   heirs.
