Second Epistle to the Corinthians

 

CHAPTER 6
  συνεργουντες   δε   και   παρακαλουμεν   μη   εις   κενον   την   χαριν   του  
    But working together     also 2   exhort 1   not 2   in 3   vain 4   the 5   grace 6    
θεου   δεξασθαι   υμας    
of 7 God 8   to 9 receive 10   you: 1    
  λεγει   γαρ   καιρω   δεκτω   επηκουσα   σου   και   εν   ημερα   σωτηριας  
    (for he says,     In a time   accepted   I listened to   thee,   and   in   a day   of salvation  
εβοηθησα   σοι   ιδου   νυν   καιρος   ευπροσδεκτος   ιδου   νυν   ημερα   σωτηριας
I helped   thee:   lo,   now   [the] time   well-accepted;   behold   now   [the] day   of salvation:)
   
  μηδεμιαν   εν   μηδενι   διδοντες   προσκοπην   ινα   μη  
    not one   in 3   anyone (lit. nothing) 4   giving 2   offence, 1   that   be not blamed  
μωμηθη   η   διακονια    
  the   service;    
  αλλ   εν   παντι   συνιστωντες   εαυτους   ως   θεου   διακονοι   εν   υπομονη  
    but   in   everything   commending   themselves   as   God’s   servants,   in   endurance 2  
πολλη   εν   θλιψεσιν   εν   αναγκαις   εν   στενοχωριαις    
much, 1   in   tribulations,   in   necessities,   in   straits,    
  εν   πληγαις   εν   φυλακαις   εν   ακαταστασιαις   εν   κοποις   εν   αγρυπνιαις   εν  
    in   stripes,   in   imprisonments,   in   commotions,   in   labours,   in   watchings,   in  
νηστειαις    
fastings,    
  εν   αγνοτητι   εν   γνωσει   εν   μακροθυμια   εν   χρηστοτητι   εν   πνευματι  
    in   pureness,   in   knowledge,   in   long-suffering,   in   kindness,   in [the]   Spirit 2  
αγιω   εν   αγαπη   ανυποκριτω    
Holy, 1   in   love   unfeigned,    
  εν   λογω   αληθειας   εν   δυναμει   θεου   δια   των   οπλων   της  
    in [the]   word   of truth,   in [the]   power   of God;   through   the   arms    
δικαιοσυνης   των   δεξιων   και   αριστερων    
of righteousness   on the   right hand   and   left,    
  δια   δοξης   και   ατιμιας   δια   δυσφημιας   και   ευφημιας   ως   πλανοι   και
    through   glory   and   dishonour,   through   evil report   and   good report:   as   deceivers,   and
  αληθεις    
  true;    
  ως   αγνοουμενοι   και   επιγινωσκομενοι   ως   αποθνησκοντες   και   ιδου  
    as   being unknown,   and   well-known;   as   dying,   and   lo  
ζωμεν   ως   παιδευομενοι   και   μη   θανατουμενοι    
we live;   as   disciplined,   and   not   put to death;    
  10  ως   λυπουμενοι   αει   δε   χαιροντες   ως   πτωχοι   πολλους   δε  
    as   sorrowful,   but always     rejoicing;   as   poor,   but many    
πλουτιζοντες   ως   μηδεν   εχοντες   και   παντα   κατεχοντες    
enriching;   as   nothing   having,   and   all things   possessing.    
  11  το   στομα   ημων   ανεωγεν   προς   υμας   κορινθιοι   η   καρδια   ημων
    Our mouth       has been opened   to   you,   Corinthians,     our heart  
  πεπλατυνται    
  has been expanded.    
  12  ου   στενοχωρεισθε   εν   ημιν   στενοχωρεισθε   δε   εν  
    Ye are not straitened     in   us,   but ye are straitened     in  
τοις   σπλαγχνοις   υμων    
your bowels;        
  13  την   δε   αυτην   αντιμισθιαν   ως   τεκνοις   λεγω   πλατυνθητε   και   υμεις    
    but the     same   [as] recompense   (as   to children   I speak)   be expanded   also   ye.    
  14  μη   γινεσθε   ετεροζυγουντες   απιστοις   τις   γαρ   μετοχη  
    Be not     diversly yoked   with unbelievers;   for what     participation [has]  
δικαιοσυνη   και   ανομια   τις   δε   κοινωνια   φωτι   προς   σκοτος    
righteousness   and   lawlessness?   and what     fellowship   light   with   darkness?    
  15  τις   δε   συμφωνησις   χριστω   προς   βελιαρ   η   τις   μερις   πιστω   μετα
    and what     concord   Christ   with   Beliar,   or   what   part   to a believer   with
  απιστου    
  an unbeliever?    
  16  τις   δε   συγκαταθεσις   ναω   θεου   μετα   ειδωλων   υμεις   γαρ   ναος  
    and what     agreement   a temple   of God   with   idols?   ye 2   for 1   a temple  
θεου   εστε   ζωντος   καθως   ειπεν   ο   θεος   οτι   ενοικησω   εν   αυτοις  
of God 3   are 4   [the] 1 living, 2   according as   said 2     God, 1     I will dwell   among   them,  
και   εμπεριπατησω   και   εσομαι   αυτων   θεος   και   αυτοι   εσονται   μοι   λαος    
and   walk among [them];   and   I will be   their   God,   and   they   shall be   to me   a people.    
  17  διο   εξελθετε   εκ   μεσου   αυτων   και   αφορισθητε   λεγει   κυριος   και
    Wherefore   come out   from   the midst   of them   and   be separated,   says   [the] Lord,   and
  ακαθαρτου   μη   απτεσθε   καγω   εισδεξομαι   υμας    
  [the] unclean   touch not.     and I   will receive   you;    
  18  και   εσομαι   υμιν   εις   πατερα   και   υμεις   εσεσθε   μοι   εις   υιους   και  
    and   I will be   to you   for   a father,   and   ye   shall be   to me   for   sons   and  
θυγατερας   λεγει   κυριος   παντοκρατωρ    
daughters,   says   [the] Lord   Almighty.
