Our epistle

having been inscribed

our hearts,

ημων

γινωσκομενη

αναγινωσκομενη

παντων

being known

and

being read

by

all

ανθρωπων
men,

οτι

εστε

επιστολη

χριστου

διακονηθεισα

υφ

ημων

being manifested

that

ye are

epistle 2

us,

εγγεγραμμενη

ου

μελανι

αλλα

πνευματι

θεου

ζωντος

having been inscribed,

not with ink,

but

with [the] Spirit

of God 3

καρδιας

σαρκιναις

not

on

tablets

of stone,

but

on

tablets 2

Confidence 7

we have

through

the

Christ

towards

God:

ουχ

οτι

ικανοι

εσμεν

αφ

εαυτων

λογισασθαι

τι

ως

εξ

εαυτων

not

that

competent

we are

from

ourselves

to reckon

anything

as

of

ourselves,

αλλ

η

ικανοτης

ημων

εκ

του

θεου

but

our competency

[is] of

God;

ικανωσεν

διακονους

καινης

διαθηκης

ου

γραμματος

who

also

made competent 2

us [as] 1

servants

of a new

covenant;

not

of letter,

αλλα

πνευματος

το

γαρ

γραμμα

αποκτεινει

το

δε

πνευμα

ζωοποιει

but

of Spirit;

for the

letter

kills,

but the

♦

Spirit

quickens.

διακονια

θανατου

γραμμασιν

εντετυπωμενη

But if

the

service

letters,

having been engraven

was produced

with

glory,

so as

glory

μαλλον

η

διακονια

του

πνευματος

εσται

εν

δοξη

how

not

rather

the

service

of the

Spirit

shall be

in

glory?

ει

γαρ

η

διακονια

της

κατακρισεως

δοξα

πολλω

μαλλον

For if

♦

the

service

♦

of condemnation [be]

glory,

much

rather

περισσευει

η

διακονια

της

δικαιοσυνης

εν

δοξη

abounds

the

service

♦

of righteousness

in

glory.

surpassing		glory.

καταργουμενον

δια

δοξης

πολλω

μαλλον

For if

that which

is being annulled

[was] through

glory,

much

rather

το		μενον		εν		δοξη
that which		remains [is]		in		glory.

εχοντες

ουν

τοιαυτην

ελπιδα

πολλη

παρρησια

χρωμεθα

Having

therefore

such

hope,

much

boldness

we use:

καθαπερ

μωσης

ετιθει

καλυμμα

επι

το

προσωπον

εαυτου

προς

and

not

according as

Moses

put

a veil

on

the

face

of himself,

for

μη

επωρωθη

νοηματα

αυτων

αχρι

γαρ

σημερον

were hardened

their thoughts

for unto

the

present

the

αυτο

καλυμμα

επι

τη

αναγνωσει

της

παλαιας

διαθηκης

μενει

μη

same

veil

at

the

reading

of the

old

covenant

remains,

not

ανακαλυπτομενον

ο

τι

εν

χριστω

καταργειται

uncovered,

which

in

Christ

is being annulled.

αλλ

εως

σημερον

ηνικα

αναγινωσκεται

μωσης

καλυμμα

επι

την

But

unto

this day,

when

is read

Moses,

a veil

upon

their heart

καρδιαν		αυτων		κειται
♦		♦		lies.

ηνικα

δ

αν

επιστρεψη

προς

κυριον

περιαιρειται

το

καλυμμα

But when

♦

♦

it shall have turned

to

[the] Lord,

is taken away

the

veil.

17

ο

δε

κυριος

το

πνευμα

εστιν

ου

δε

το

πνευμα

κυριου

Now the

♦

Lord

the

Spirit

is;

and where

♦

the

Spirit

of [the] Lord [is],

εκει		ελευθερια
there [is]		freedom.

18

ημεις

δε

παντες

ανακεκαλυμμενω

προσωπω

την

δοξαν

κυριου

But we

♦

all

with uncovered

face

the

glory

of [the] Lord

κατοπτριζομενοι

την

αυτην

εικονα

μεταμορφουμεθα

απο

δοξης

εις

beholding as in a mirror, [to]

the

same

image

are being transformed

from

glory

to

δοξαν		καθαπερ		απο		κυριου		πνευματος
glory,		even as		from [the]		Lord [the]		Spirit.
