And it came to pass | ♦ | in | Iconium | together 2 | ♦ | ♦ | entered 3 | they 1 | into | the |
synagogue | of the | Jews, | and | spoke | so | that | believed 9 |
both 1 of 2 Jews 3 | ♦ | and 4 | Hellenists 5 | a 6 great 7 | number. 8 |
But the | ♦ | disobeying | Jews | stirred up | and | made evil-affected | the | souls |
of the | Gentiles | against | the | brethren. |
A long | ♦ | therefore 2 | time 1 | they stayed, | speaking boldly, | [confiding] in | the |
Lord, | who | bore witness | to the | word | of his grace, | ♦ | ♦ | and | giving |
signs | and | wonders | to be done | through | their hands. | ♦ | ♦ |
And was divided | ♦ | the | multitude | of the | city, | and | some | ♦ | were | with | the |
Jews | and some | ♦ | with | the | apostles. |
And when | ♦ | there was | a rush | of 2 the 3 | Gentiles 4 | both 1 | and | Jews | with | their rulers, |
♦ | ♦ | to insult | and | to stone | them, |
being aware | they fled | to | the | cities | ♦ | of Lycaonia, | Lystra, | and |
Derbe, | and | the | country around, |
and there | they were | announcing the glad tidings. |
And | a certain | man | in | Lystra, | impotent | in the | feet, | sat, | lame | from |
[the] womb | of his mother | ♦ | being, | who | never | had walked. |
This [man] | heard | ♦ | Paul | speaking, | who, | having looked intently | to him, | and |
seeing | that | faith | he has | ♦ | to be healed, |
said | with a loud | ♦ | voice, | Stand up | on | thy feet | ♦ | ♦ | upright. | And |
ηλλετο | και | περιεπατει | ||||
he sprang up | and | walked. |
And the | ♦ | crowds | having seen | what | did 2 | ♦ | Paul, 1 | lifted up | their voice |
♦ | ♦ | in Lycaonian | saying, | The | gods, | having become like | men, |
are come down | to | us. |
And they called | ♦ | ♦ | ♦ | Barnabas | Zeus; | and Paul | ♦ | ♦ | Hermes, | because |
he | was | the | leading | ♦ | in speaking. |
And the | ♦ | priest | ♦ | of Zeus | who | was | before | their city, | ♦ | ♦ |
oxen | and | garlands | to | the | gates | having brought, | with | the | crowds |
ηθελεν | θυειν | |||
wished | to sacrifice. |
Having 7 heard 8 | but 1 | the 2 | apostles 3 | Barnabas 4 | and 5 | Paul, 6 | having rent |
their garments, | ♦ | ♦ | rushed in | to | the | crowd, | crying |
and | saying, | Men, | why | these things | do ye? | also | we | of 3 like 4 feelings 5 |
are 1 | with 6 you 7 | men, 2 | announcing the glad tidings to | you | from | these | ♦ |
vanities | to turn | to | ♦ | God | the | living, | who | made | the | heaven |
and | the | earth | and | the | sea | and | all | the things | in | them; |
who | in | the | past | generations | suffered | all | the | nations | to go |
♦ | in their [own] ways, | ♦ |
though indeed | ♦ | ♦ | not | without witness | himself | he left, | doing good, |
from heaven | to us | rains 2 | giving 1 | and | seasons 2 | fruitful, 1 | filling |
with food | and | gladness | the | hearts | of us. |
And | these things | saying | hardly | they stopped | the | crowds | from sacrificing | ♦ |
θυειν | αυτοις | |||
♦ | to them. |
But thither came | ♦ | from | Antioch | and | Iconium | Jews, | and | having persuaded |
the | crowds, | and | having stoned | ♦ | Paul, | drew [him] | outside | the | city, |
supposing | him | to have died. |
But having 3 surrounded 4 | ♦ | him 5 | the 1 | disciples, 2 | having risen up | he entered | into |
the | city. | And | on the | morrow | he went away | with | ♦ | Barnabas | to | Derbe. |
And having announced the glad tidings to | ♦ | that city, | ♦ | ♦ | and |
having discipled | many | they returned | to | ♦ | Lystra | and | Iconium | and |
αντιοχειαν | ||
Antioch, |
establishing | the | souls | of the | disciples, | exhorting [them] | to continue |
in the | faith, | and | that | through | many | tribulations | must | we | enter | into | the |
βασιλειαν | του | θεου | ||||
kingdom | ♦ | of God. |
And having chosen | ♦ | for them | elders | in every assembly, | ♦ |
having prayed | with | fasting | they committed | them | to the | Lord, | on | whom |
πεπιστευκεισαν | ||
they had believed. |
And | having passed through | ♦ | Pisidia | they came | to | Pamphylia, |
and | having spoken | in | Perga | the | word | they came down | to | Attalia; |
and thence | they sailed | to | Antioch, | whence | they had | been committed |
to the | grace | ♦ | of God | for | the | work | which | they fulfilled. |
And having arrived | ♦ | and | having gathered together | the | assembly | they declared |
all that | did 2 | ♦ | God 1 | with | them, | and | that | he opened | to the | nations | a door |
πιστεως | ||
of faith. |
And they stayed | ♦ | there | time 4 | not 1 | a 2 little 3 | with | the | disciples. |
