Gospel of John

CHAPTER 16
These things   I have spoken   to you   that   ye may not be offended.
Out of the synagogues   they will put   you;   but   is coming   an hour   that   everyone   who
kills   you   will think   service   to render     to God;
and   these things   they will do   to you   because   they know not     the   Father
nor   me.
But   these things   I have said   to you,   that   when   may have come   the   hour
ye may remember   them   that   I   said [them]   to you.   But these things     to you   from
[the] beginning   I did not say     because   with   you   I was.
But now     I go   to   him who   sent   me,   and   none   of   you   asks
me,   Where   goest thou?
But   because   these things   I have said   to you     grief   has filled   your
heart.
But   I   the   truth   say   to you,   It is profitable   for you   that   I
should go away;   for if     I go not away     the   Paraclete   will not come
to   you;   but if     I go,   I will send   him   to   you.
And   having come   he   will convict   the   world   concerning   sin   and
concerning   righteousness   and   concerning   judgment.
    Concerning   sin,     because   they believe not     on   me;
concerning   righteousness     because   to   my Father       I go away,   and
no   longer   ye behold   me;
and concerning     judgment,   because   the   ruler     of this world
has been judged.
Yet   many things   I have   to say   to you,   but   ye are not able     to bear them
now.
But when     may 2 have 3 come 4   he, 1   the   Spirit     of truth,   he will guide
you   into   all   the   truth;   not 4   for 1   he 2 will 3 speak   from   himself,   but
whatsoever     he may hear   he will speak;   and   the things   coming   he will announce   to you.
He   me   will glorify,   for   of     mine   he will receive,   and   will announce   to you.
All things   whatsoever   has 3   the 1   Father 2   mine 5   are; 4   because of   this   I said,   that   of
mine   he will receive,   and   will announce   to you.
A little [while]   and   ye do not behold     me;   and   again   a little [while]   and
ye shall see   me,   because   I   go away   to   the   Father.
Said   therefore [some]   of   his disciples       to   one another,   What
is   this   which   he says   to us,   A little [while]   and   ye do not behold     me;   and
again   a little [while]   and   you shall see   me?   and   Because   I   go away   to   the
Father?
They said   therefore,   This 3   what 1   is 2   which   he says,   the   little [while]?   We do not know
  what   he speaks.
Knew 2   therefore 3     Jesus 1   that   they desired   him 3   to 1 ask, 2   and   said   to them,
Concerning   this   do ye inquire   among   one another,   that   I said,   A little [while]   and
ye do not behold     me;   and   again   a little [while]   and   you shall see   me?
Verily   verily   I say   to you,   that   will 2 weep 3   and 4   will 5 lament 6   ye, 1   but the
world   will rejoice;   but ye     will be grieved,   but   your grief       to
joy   shall become.
    The   woman   when   she gives birth,   grief   has,   because   is come   her hour;
but when     she brings forth   the   child,   no   longer   she remembers   the   tribulation,
on account of   the   joy   that   has been born   a man   into   the   world.
And   ye   therefore   grief   indeed   now   have;   but again     I will see   you,   and
shall 4 rejoice 5   your 1     heart, 2   and   your joy       no one   takes   from   you.
Amd   in   that     day   of me     ye shall ask   nothing.   Verily   verily   I say
to you,   That   whatsoever     ye may ask   the   Father   in     my name     he will give
you.
Hitherto       ye asked   nothing   in   my name:       ask,   and
ye shall receive,   that   your joy       may be   full.
These things   in   allegories   I have spoken   to you;   but   is coming   an hour   when   no
longer   in   alegories   I will speak   to you,   but   plainly   concerning   the   Father
I will announce   to you.
In   that     day   in   my name       ye shall ask;   and   not 3   I 1 say 2
to you   that   I   will beseech   the   Father   for   you,
himself 4   for 1   the 2   Father 3   loves   you,   because   ye   me   have loved,   and
have believed   that   I   from     God   came out.
I came out   from   the   Father   and   have come   into   the   world;   again   I leave
the   world   and   go   to   the   Father.
Say 3   to 4 him 5   his 1 disciples, 2       Lo,   now   plainly
thou speakest,   and   allegory 2   no 1   speakest.
Now   we know   that   thou knowest   all things,   and   not 2   need 3   hast 1   that   anyone   thee
should ask.   Bu   this   we believe   that   from   God   thou camest forth.
    Answered 2   them 3     Jesus, 1   Now 6   do 4 ye 5 believe? 7
Lo,   is coming   an hour   and   now   has come,   that   ye will be scattered   each   to
his own,     and   me   alone   ye will leave;   and [yet]   I am not     alone,   for   the
Father   with   me   is.
These things   I have spoken   to you   that   in   me   peace   ye may have.   In   the   world
tribulation   ye have;   but   be of good courage,   I   have overcome   the   world.
