Gospel of Luke
| 1 | αναβλεψας | δε | ειδεν | τους | βαλλοντας | τα | δωρα | αυτων | εις | ||||||||||
| And having looked up | ♦ | he saw | the ones | casting 2 | their 3 gifts 4 | ♦ | ♦ | into 5 |
| το | γαζοφυλακιον | πλουσιους | ||||
| the 6 | treasury 7 | rich, 1 |
| 2 | ειδεν | δε | και | τινα | χηραν | πενιχραν | βαλλουσαν | εκει | δυο | λεπτα | ||||||||||||
| and he saw | ♦ | and | a certain | widow 2 | poor 1 | casting | therein | two | lepta. |
| 3 | και | ειπεν | αληθως | λεγω | υμιν | οτι | η | χηρα | η | πτωχη | αυτη | πλειον | |||||||||||||
| And | he said, | Of a truth | I say | to you, | that | ♦ | widow 3 | ♦ | poor 2 | this 1 | more |
| παντων | εβαλεν | |||
| than all | cast in; |
| 4 | απαντες | γαρ | ουτοι | εκ | του | περισσευοντος | αυτοις | εβαλον | εις | τα | |||||||||||
| for all | ♦ | these | out of | that which | was abounding | to them | cast | into | the |
| δωρα | του | θεου | αυτη | δε | εκ | του | υστερηματος | αυτης | απαντα | τον | |||||||||||
| gifts | ♦ | of God; | but she | ♦ | out of | her poverty | ♦ | ♦ | all | the |
| βιον | ον | ειχεν | εβαλεν | |||||
| livelihood | which | she had | did cast. |
| 5 | και | τινων | λεγοντων | περι | του | ιερου | οτι | λιθοις | καλοις | και | |||||||||||
| And | as some | were speaking | about | the | temple, | that | with stones 2 | goodly 1 | and |
| αναθημασιν | κεκοσμηται | ειπεν | ||||
| consecrated gifts | it was adorned, | he said, |
| 6 | ταυτα | α | θεωρειτε | ελευσονται | ημεραι | εν | αις | ||||||||
| [As to] these things | which | ye are beholding, | will 2 come 3 | days 1 | in | which |
| ουκ | αφεθησεται | λιθος | επι | λιθω | ος | ου | |||||||
| shall not be left | ♦ | stone | upon | stone | which | shall not be thrown down. |
| καταλυθησεται | ||
| ♦ |
| 7 | επηρωτησαν | δε | αυτον | λεγοντες | διδασκαλε | ποτε | ουν | ταυτα | εσται | |||||||||
| And they asked | ♦ | him, | saying, | Teacher, | when | then | these 2 things 3 | will be? 1 |
| και | τι | το | σημειον | οταν | μελλη | ταυτα | γινεσθαι | ||||||||||
| and | what | the | sign | when | are 3 about 4 | these 1 things 2 | to take place? |
| 8 | ο | δε | ειπεν | βλεπετε | μη | πλανηθητε | πολλοι | γαρ | |||||||||
| And he | ♦ | said, | Take heed | ye be not led astray; | ♦ | for many | ♦ |
| ελευσονται | επι | τω | ονοματι | μου | λεγοντες | οτι | εγω | ειμι | και | ο | καιρος | ||||||||||||
| will come | in | ♦ | my name, | ♦ | saying, | ♦ | I | am [he]; | and | The | time |
| ηγγικεν | μη | ουν | πορευθητε | οπισω | αυτων | |||||||
| is drawn near. | Not 3 | therefore 4 | go 1 ye 2 | after | them. |
| 9 | οταν | δε | ακουσητε | πολεμους | και | ακαταστασιας | μη | ||||||||
| And when | ♦ | ye shall hear of | wars | and | commotions, | be not terrified; |
| πτοηθητε | δει | γαρ | ταυτα | γενεσθαι | πρωτον | αλλ | ουκ | ευθεως | το | ||||||||||
| ♦ | must 4 | for 1 | these 2 things 3 | take place | first, | but | not | immediately [is] | the |
| τελος | ||
| end. |
| 10 | τοτε | ελεγεν | αυτοις | εγερθησεται | εθνος | επι | εθνος | και | βασιλεια | ||||||||||
| Then | he was saying | to them, | Shall 2 rise 3 up 4 | nation 1 | against | nation, | and | kingdom |
| επι | βασιλειαν | |||
| against | kingdom; |
| 11 | σεισμοι | τε | μεγαλοι | κατα | τοπους | και | λιμοι | και | λοιμοι | ||||||||||
| also earthquakes 2 | ♦ | great 1 | in different | places | and | famines | and | pestilences |
| εσονται | φοβητρα | τε | και | σημεια | απ | ουρανου | μεγαλα | εσται | ||||||||||
| shall there be, | fearful 2 sights 3 | and 1 | and | signs 2 | from 3 | heaven 4 | great 1 | shall there be. |
| 12 | προ | δε | τουτων | απαντων | επιβαλουσιν | εφ | υμας | τας | χειρας | ||||||||||
| Before 2 | but 1 | these 4 things 5 | all 3 | they will lay | upon | you | ♦ | hands 2 |
| αυτων | και | διωξουσιν | παραδιδοντες | εις | συναγωγας | και | φυλακας | ||||||||
| their, 1 | and | will persecute [you], | delivering up | to | synagogues | and | prisons, |
| αγομενους | επι | βασιλεις | και | ηγεμονας | ενεκεν | του | ονοματος | μου | ||||||||||
| bringing [you] | before | kings | and | governors, | on account of | my name; | ♦ | ♦ |
| 13 | αποβησεται | δε | υμιν | εις | μαρτυριον | |||||||
| but it shall turn out | ♦ | to you | for | a testimony. |
| 14 | θεσθε | ουν | εις | τας | καρδιας | υμων | μη | προμελεταν | απολογηθηναι | |||||||||||
| Settle | therefore | in | ♦ | your hearts | ♦ | not | to premeditate | to make a defence; |
| 15 | εγω | γαρ | δωσω | υμιν | στομα | και | σοφιαν | η | ου | ||||||||||
| for I | ♦ | will give | you | a mouth | and | wisdom, | which | shall 5 not 6 be 7 able 8 |
| δυνησονται | αντειπειν | ουδε | αντιστηναι | παντες | οι | αντικειμενοι | υμιν | |||||||||
| ♦ | to 9 reply 10 to 11 | nor 12 | to 13 resist 14 | all 1 | those 2 | opposing 3 | you. 4 |
| 16 | παραδοθησεσθε | δε | και | υπο | γονεων | και | αδελφων | και | συγγενων | ||||||||||
| But ye will be delivered up | ♦ | even | by | parents | and | brethren | and | relations |
| και | φιλων | και | θανατωσουσιν | εξ | υμων | |||||||
| and | friends, | and | they will put to death [some] | from among | you, |
| 17 | και | εσεσθε | μισουμενοι | υπο | παντων | δια | το | ονομα | μου | |||||||||||
| and | ye will be | hated | by | all | because of | my name. | ♦ | ♦ |
| 18 | και | θριξ | εκ | της | κεφαλης | υμων | ου | μη | αποληται | |||||||||||
| And | a hair | of | your head | ♦ | ♦ | in no wise | ♦ | may perish. |
| 19 | εν | τη | υπομονη | υμων | κτησασθε | τας | ψυχας | υμων | ||||||||||
| By | your patience endurance | ♦ | ♦ | gain | your souls. | ♦ | ♦ |
| 20 | οταν | δε | ιδητε | κυκλουμενην | υπο | στρατοπεδων | την | ιερουσαλημ | |||||||||
| But when | ♦ | ye see | being 2 encircled 3 | with 4 | armies 5 | ♦ | Jerusalem 1 |
| τοτε | γνωτε | οτι | ηγγικεν | η | ερημωσις | αυτης | ||||||||
| then | know | that | has drawn near | her desolation. | ♦ | ♦ |
| 21 | τοτε | οι | εν | τη | ιουδαια | φευγετωσαν | εις | τα | ορη | και | οι | εν | μεσω | ||||||||||||||
| Then | those | in | ♦ | Judaea | let them flee | to | the | moutains; | and | those | in | her midst |
| αυτης | εκχωρειτωσαν | και | οι | εν | ταις | χωραις | μη | εισερχεσθωσαν | εις | ||||||||||
| ♦ | let them depart out, | and | those | in | the | countries | not 3 | let 1 them 2 enter | into |
| αυτην | ||
| her; |
| 22 | οτι | ημεραι | εκδικησεως | αυται | εισιν | του | πληρωθηναι | παντα | τα | ||||||||||
| for | days | of avenging | these | are, | ♦ | that may be accomplished | all things | that |
| γεγραμμενα | ||
| have been written. |
| 23 | ουαι | δε | ταις | εν | γαστρι | εχουσαις | και | ταις | θηλαζουσαις | εν | |||||||||||
| But woe | ♦ | to those | with child | ♦ | ♦ | and | to those | giving suck | in |
| εκειναις | ταις | ημεραις | εσται | γαρ | αναγκη | μεγαλη | επι | της | γης | και | |||||||||||
| those | ♦ | days, | for there shall be | ♦ | distrees 2 | great 1 | upon | the | land | and |
| οργη | εν | τω | λαω | τουτω | ||||||
| wrath | among | this people. | ♦ | ♦ |
| 24 | και | πεσουνται | στοματι | μαχαιρας | και | αιχμαλωτισθησονται | εις | ||||||||
| And | they shall fall | by [the] mouth | of [the] sword, | and | shall be led captive | into |
| παντα | τα | εθνη | και | ιερουσαλημ | εσται | πατουμενη | υπο | εθνων | αχρι | ||||||||||
| all | the | nations; | and | Jersualem | shall be | trodden down | by | [the] nations | until |
| πληρωθωσιν | καιροι | εθνων | ||||
| be fulfilled | [the] times | of [the] nations. |
| 25 | και | εσται | σημεια | εν | ηλιω | και | σεληνη | και | αστροις | και | επι | της | γης | ||||||||||||||
| And | there shall be | signs | in | sun | and | moon | and | stars, | and | upon | the | earth |
| συνοχη | εθνων | εν | απορια | ηχουσης | θαλασσης | και | σαλου | |||||||||
| distress | of nations | with | perplexity, | roaring | of [the] sea | and | rolling surge, |
| 26 | αποψυχοντων | ανθρωπων | απο | φοβου | και | προσδοκιας | των | ||||||||
| fainting 2 at 3 heart 4 | men 1 | from | fear | and | expectation | of that which |
| επερχομενων | τη | οικουμενη | αι | γαρ | δυναμεις | των | ουρανων | ||||||||
| is coming | on the | habitable earth; | for the | ♦ | powers | of the | heavens |
| σαλευθησονται | ||
| shall be shaken. |
| 27 | και | τοτε | οψονται | τον | υιον | του | ανθρωπου | ερχομενον | εν | νεφελη | |||||||||||
| And | then | shall they see | the | Son | ♦ | of man | coming | in | a cloud |
| μετα | δυναμεως | και | δοξης | πολλης | ||||||
| with | power | and | glory 2 | great. 1 |
| 28 | αρχομενων | δε | τουτων | γινεσθαι | ανακυψατε | και | επαρατε | τας | |||||||||
| But beginning 3 | ♦ | these 1 things 2 | to come to pass | look up | and | lift up | ♦ |
| κεφαλας | υμων | διοτι | εγγιζει | η | απολυτρωσις | υμων | ||||||||
| heads 2 | your, 1 | because | draws near | your redemption. | ♦ | ♦ |
| 29 | και | ειπεν | παραβολην | αυτοις | ιδετε | την | συκην | και | παντα | τα | δενδρα | |||||||||||||
| And | he spoke | a parable | to them: | Behold | the | fig-tree | and | all | the | trees: |
| 30 | οταν | προβαλωσιν | ηδη | βλεποντες | αφ | εαυτων | γινωσκετε | οτι | |||||||||
| when | they 2 sprout 3 | already, 1 | looking [on them] | of | yourselves | ye know | that |
| ηδη | εγγυς | το | θερος | εστιν | ||||||
| already | near | the | summer | is. |
| 31 | ουτως | και | υμεις | οταν | ιδητε | ταυτα | γινομενα | γινωσκετε | οτι | εγγυς | |||||||||||
| So | also | ye, | when | ye see | these things | coming to pass | know | that | near |
| εστιν | η | βασιλεια | του | θεου | ||||||
| is | the | kingdom | ♦ | of God. |
| 32 | αμην | λεγω | υμιν | οτι | ου | μη | παρελθη | η | γενεα | ||||||||||
| Verily | I say | to you, | that | in no wise | ♦ | will have passed away | this generation | ♦ |
| αυτη | εως | αν | παντα | γενηται | ||||||
| ♦ | until | ♦ | all | shall have taken place. |
| 33 | ο | ουρανος | και | η | γη | παρελευσονται | οι | δε | λογοι | μου | |||||||||||
| The | heaven | and | the | earth | shall pass away, | but my words | ♦ | ♦ | ♦ |
| ου | μη | παρελθωσιν | ||||
| in no wise | ♦ | may pass away. |
| 34 | προσεχετε | δε | εαυτοις | μηποτε | βαρυνθωσιν | υμων | αι | καρδιαι | εν | ||||||||||
| But take heed | ♦ | to yourselves, | lest | be laden | your | ♦ | hearts | with |
| κραιπαλη | και | μεθη | και | μεριμναις | βιωτικαις | και | αιφνιδιος | εφ | υμας | ||||||||||
| surfeiting | and | drinking | and | cares | of life, | and | suddenly | upon | you |
| επιστη | η | ημερα | εκεινη | |||||
| should come | that day; | ♦ | ♦ |
| 35 | ως | παγις | γαρ | επελευσεται | επι | παντας | τους | καθημενους | επι | ||||||||||
| for as a snare | ♦ | ♦ | shall it come | upon | all | those | sitting | upon |
| προσωπον | πασης | της | γης | |||||
| the face | of all | the | earth. |
| 36 | αγρυπνειτε | ουν | εν | παντι | καιρω | δεομενοι | ινα | καταξιωθητε | |||||||||
| Watch | therefore | at | every | season | praying, | that | ye may be accounted worthy |
| εκφυγειν | ταυτα | παντα | τα | μελλοντα | γινεσθαι | και | σταθηναι | ||||||||
| to escape | these 2 things 3 | all 1 | which | are about | to come to pass, | and | to stand |
| εμπροσθεν | του | υιου | του | ανθρωπου | ||||||
| before | the | Son | ♦ | of man. |
| 37 | ην | δε | τας | ημερας | εν | τω | ιερω | διδασκων | τας | δε | νυκτας | ||||||||||||
| And he was | ♦ | by day | ♦ | in | the | temple | teaching, | and by night | ♦ | ♦ |
| εξερχομενος | ηυλιζετο | εις | το | ορος | το | καλουμενον | ελαιων | |||||||||
| going out | he lodged | on | the | mount | ♦ | called | of Olives; |
| 38 | και | πας | ο | λαος | ωρθριζεν | προς | αυτον | εν | τω | ιερω | ακουειν | ||||||||||||
| and | all | the | people | came early in the morning | to | him | in | the | temple | to hear |
| αυτου | ||
| him. |
